People looking for an Aviva health insurance discount search for a long list of things: a gym rate at Nuffield Health or David Lloyd, a Garmin offer, a blue light or NHS discount, a discount code, cashback, a no claims discount. Apart from the no claims discount, none of them appears in Aviva's Healthier Solutions terms, which say nothing either way about offers Aviva runs outside the policy, so whether one is open to you is a question for the quote stage. What you are really deciding is whether Aviva's benefit table is worth Aviva's premium, with the offers taken out of the sum. Pricing Aviva beside two or three rivals on identical settings is a job an FCA-authorised broker does at no cost to you; to be introduced, use the form on this page.
What those terms do contain is two lines that pay money out and two options that change what you buy, and how they interact matters more than any "Aviva offer".
The Aviva offers people search for, and where each would have to be written
An offer is only worth weighing if you can point to the document that promises it. The searches fall into a few kinds, and each would live somewhere different.
| What people search for | What kind of thing it would be | Where proof would sit | In Aviva's March 2026 terms? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gym membership discount (Nuffield, David Lloyd), Garmin and other device offers | A reduction on something bought from a third party; the premium is untouched | A members' benefits page, or a partner's own terms | Not mentioned |
| Blue light or NHS discount | A price reduction for an occupation, if one exists, often arranged through an employer or staff benefits scheme | The quote itself, or the scheme's paperwork | Not mentioned |
| Discount code | A promotional price | The quote; a code on a voucher site proves nothing | Not mentioned |
| No claims discount | A change to the premium at renewal depending on claims | The policy terms or the renewal letter | Yes: a no claim discount reviewed at each renewal date (page 32) |
| Cashback | Usually a cash sum paid under the policy, not money off it | The benefit table in the policy terms | An NHS cash benefit line (below) |
| Baby bonus | A one-off cash payment under the policy | The benefit terms | A baby bonus clause (below) |
"Not mentioned" does not mean Aviva has no such offer. The two cash lines are benefits inside the policy; most of what people call a discount sits, if anywhere, outside it. The two discounts the terms do describe, the no claim discount and a MyHealthCounts premium discount that Aviva may change or remove (page 32), both work through the renewal price, and why an Aviva premium goes up sets out how. So ask for the document, not the advert.
Two lines in Aviva's wording that pay money out
Every Aviva clause on this page comes from the March 2026 issue of Aviva's Healthier Solutions policy terms (print code AV1590050_GEN6842_0326), downloaded from Aviva's own document library on 21 October 2026. Its title carries the words "Policies started or renewed before 1 November 2026", which means cover beginning after that date may be issued on fresh terms; check both lines against the version that comes with your quote, or have the broker who rings you back say whether either has changed.
The NHS cash benefit, which is what "cashback" usually turns out to mean
The benefit table shows £100 a night, for up to 30 nights, under NHS cash benefit (page 5). The row carries a footnote marker, so a condition is attached, and it is worth finding in the terms you are sent; the page on going private against staying with the NHS sets the clause out.
The baby bonus
The terms pay the policyholder £100 per baby, for a baby born to a member in a policy year or adopted by one before its first birthday. On moratorium or full medical underwriting it is only paid where the birth or adoption comes more than ten months after the policyholder joins (page 11). The Aviva baby bonus has a page of its own.
Neither lowers a premium, and a cash line is worth something only in the situation it pays out in.
A lower Aviva price is usually a trade, and one trade cuts into a cash line
The wording has two settings that usually bring a price down, both by changing what the policy pays.
- The excess. Six options run from £100 to £5,000, charged per member, per policy year (page 11). A higher excess usually brings the premium down, because you carry more of the first part of a claim; by how much is for a quote to show. The full clause is on what an excess is.
- The six week option. Choose it and private treatment as an in-patient or day-patient is not claimable where the NHS can treat you within six weeks of your specialist recommending it (page 11). Options that narrow what a policy pays generally make it cheaper; the terms put no figure on how much.
The point a gym-discount search will never show you is in that second clause. Where the NHS can treat within six weeks, it also stops claims for the NHS cash benefit, its cancer counterpart and the cost of an amenity bed. So on the March 2026 wording, a setting chosen to bring the price down can stop the very line a "cashback" search is looking for, and a quote can list both an option and a benefit the option has partly switched off. The guide to reading an Aviva quote quotes the clause in full and covers the rest of what moves the figure.
The comparison worth having made for you is Aviva priced with and without the six week option, at two excess levels, beside another insurer on the same settings. Ask a broker for exactly that grid; the form on this page starts the request, free of charge.
Employer schemes, corporate rates and occupational discounts
Many searches for an Aviva gym or blue light discount, or for Aviva corporate private medical insurance, come from people whose cover or gym is arranged through work. A rate carrying Aviva's name can have been set by Aviva itself, by the gym for corporate members, or by an employer's benefits platform. Only the paperwork shows which, and it matters, because a rate from your employer ends with the job whatever logo was on it. How Aviva prices a group scheme or a particular occupation depends on the scheme, and a broker can explain the difference free on a call-back; group cover for employees and discounts for NHS staff cover those routes generally.
How to decide whether an Aviva offer should count
- Find the document. An offer in the policy terms is part of what you buy. One on a rewards page or partner's site may change or end while the policy carries on.
- Check when it starts. The baby bonus shows an offer can carry its own waiting period.
- Check what the cheaper settings switch off. Read the benefit table after the options have been applied, not before.
- Keep the offer out of the sum. Unlike the two cash lines, a gym rate pays nothing unless you were already paying that gym, and it never meets a claim; if it tips the choice between two policies it is being asked to do too much.
What to ask about Aviva's offers before you buy
- "Does this quote come with any gym, device or partner discount, and which document sets it out?"
- "Is there a no claims discount, and what does one claim do at renewal?"
- "Is the six week option on this quote, and when would it stop the NHS cash lines paying?"
- "Is this priced on the March 2026 terms or a later issue, and have the NHS cash benefit or baby bonus lines changed?"
- "If I am quoted through my employer, which parts of this rate would I keep if I left?"
Questions about Aviva discounts, offers and cover
Does Aviva health insurance come with a gym membership discount?
Aviva's March 2026 policy terms do not mention a gym, Nuffield Health or David Lloyd, so whether a gym rate comes with a policy depends on what Aviva offers members at the time. Ask for the discount in writing, with the document it comes from.
Is there an Aviva health insurance discount code?
Aviva's March 2026 terms do not refer to one. If a code is real, the reduced figure is on the quote Aviva or a broker gives you; a code on its own proves nothing.
Does Aviva offer a blue light or NHS discount?
Any occupational rate usually comes through an employer or staff scheme, as above; ask who gives the reduction and whether it survives a change of job.
Does Aviva have a no claims discount?
Yes. The March 2026 terms say "Your policy includes a no claim discount (NCD) which is reviewed at each renewal date" and send you to Aviva's website for how it is applied (page 32). How claims tend to affect a renewal across the market is on the page on no claims discounts; for your own policy, ask what one claim would do to next year's premium.
Does Aviva health insurance pay cashback?
The nearest thing in the March 2026 wording is the NHS cash benefit set out above, which the six week option can stop. Check both lines on your quote.
What does Aviva private healthcare cover, and what does it exclude?
What Aviva's policy includes works through the benefit table; the exclusions most UK policies share, chronic conditions among them, are explained on how private health insurance works.
Does Aviva health insurance cover surgery, vasectomy or treatments like Mounjaro?
Private medical insurance is generally built to pay for treating new conditions that arise after you join, which often means surgery. Whether vasectomy, weight-loss medicines, HRT or a cosmetic procedure is paid for depends on the policy and the reason for treatment; name the treatment when the broker calls you back and they can check it before you buy, free.
Does Aviva health insurance include bereavement support?
That depends on the policy. If it matters to you, ask whether it is part of the policy or a separate service, and which document describes it.
I already have an Aviva policy. Can you check my cover or my documents?
We cannot: this site has no way into Aviva's systems, so your policy booklet, renewal, payments and support number all sit with Aviva. For claims, see claiming on an Aviva policy; for how Aviva is regarded, Aviva's reviews and reputation.
Finish with two documents rather than an advert: an Aviva quote on the settings you would choose, with any offer named on it and the cash lines checked against the options, and a rival's quote on the same basis. Send that request through the form and one FCA-authorised broker can bring both back.
